  18. True, but "seeming silly" is not really a very reliable criterion for
  19. making a final conclusion. One has to realize that the ancient world
  20. culture was full of people no stupider than those of today. Their
  21. science was expressed differently, but they were not fools. To
  22. understand what they wrote, one must accept that it does make sense.
