  21. Spermatozoa carry mitochondria in the "collar" region.  Occasionally (<1/1000,
  22. I think) the collar can be absorbed into the ovum along with the head.

  24. BTW, the hereditary medium in mitochondria is DNA, not RNA--they're not
  25. retroviruses, you know....
