  13. Ok, all of you Freudian and other amateur psychologists.  I've been noticing
  14. a lot of people where I work reaching out and touching the walls as they walk
  15. the corridors.  I notice this behavior is a lot more common than it used to be.
  16. These are scientists and engineers, for the most part, and a fair number of
  17. clerical and administrative workers.  The workplace is a large research
  18. facility, funded mainly by government sponsors.  It has largely escaped the
  19. economic difficulties that have visited many other large organizations.

  21. So what's the diagnosis?  Reaching out to see if the world is still there?
  22. Or is it me, for noticing such things ;-}
