  13. Since the CFD has long expired and the CFV has gone out some time ago, we 
  14. should let the votes speak.  If the change passes, then one can monitor 
  15. which articles are accepted and which are rejected and see if some 
  16. revolution is required.  My own view is that few problems will arise. 
  17. After all, there will still be several other groups (with reduced traffic) 
  18. for discussion of material considered unsuitable in the research area.

  20. As for style in this forum disqualifying a person: I have seen more 
  21. vituperative attacks made at *meetings* than I have ever seen in this 
  22. newsgroup.  What one says, and how one attacks an ideas, is often not 
  23. reflected in how one evaluates the suitability of an argument for 
  24. argumentation.  As a referee, I may accept a paper for publication 
  25. that I disagree with as long as the position is presented clearly -- 
  26. at some point each author must live or die on the value of the idea. 
  27. After all, I can accept it and immediately start writing a comment....
