  20. No, but it is just as dangerous.  If you backslide and start to smoke
  21. occasionally while on the patch, it could be more dangerous.  There is
  22. some controversy about how helpful the patch really is.  It is possible
  23. to quit without it, of course.  I don't think you'll find a reputable
  24. doctor to give you the patch with your peripheral vascular disease.
