  18. have been a number of American and Canadian television presentations on
  19. comparisons of the US and Canadian health systems.

  21. There are many pros and cons, and if the radio talk show wasn't able to
  22. bring up the numerous negative points, then it was incompetently run.
  23. One notion that keeps coming up is that the Canadian system couldn't
  24. function as is without having the American medical service suppliers
  25. just over the border to provide timely procedures to paying Canadian
  26. patients.  One recent TV report showed where the New Brunswick health
  27. ministry itself contracted with suppliers in Maine for radiation
  28. treatments that simply weren't available in that region.  And so forth.

  30. The American system has big time problems that are regularly discussed
  31. nowadays, but it has to be noted that the Canadian model is definitely
  32. not without its own serious problems and couldn't be adapted neatly.
