- Giving thyroid medication to people with normal thyroid function is
- not good medical practice. The TSH is a more accurate way of
- determining what you need than the T4, but in general, your
- doctor is right and your sister is wrong. Also, giving
- thyroid medication to someone who didn't need it is inviting
- more mischeif than giving an anti-depressant to someone who
- didn't need it.
