- As a classification of mental disorders, DSM-III is a joke. It wa
- put together by committe's votes which is not the way to construct
- a reliable taxonomy. This caucas-committee concoction has low
- reliability ( interjudge aggreement ) for most of its categories
- and it is full of logical contradictions. It does not help the
- practitioner decide what treatment is best for the patient and it
- is useless for research. Its main use is in writing down a number
- on a re-embursement insurance form.
