- Your symptons as described could fit a lot of troubles, but presumably
- your doctor has discarded most of them based on the examination.
- Still, that won't stop me (and maybe others) chiming in with *my* disease
- that in my case has similar symptoms.
-
- Did your doctor mention IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), the blanket
- term for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Both are chronic,
- but can flare acutely, sometimes being misdiagnosed for acute appendicitis
- the first time. The symptoms you describe are common in Crohn's disease
- in certain sites (I get "stomach cramps" which are actually caused by
- bowel obstruction. As the loops contract to clear the blockage, other
- loops get pushed up, creating pain in the area I associate with the stomach.)
-
- But, as I said, your doctor has probably discarded this based on
- examination. (I think that good practice would require IBD be ruled
- out before presenting a diagnosis of IBS, as the diseases are
- superficially similar in initial symptoms, but of different
- seriousness).
-
- Good luck!
