- Note, though, that while what you're saying makes perfect sense it also
- assumes that the couple remain a couple after one exposes the other to the
- STD. I suspect that there is an appreciable number of cases of STD where
- the relationship lasts a short time. I'd be interested in finding out
- about what kinds of compromises can be made (between privacy of medical
- records, and getting the info necessary for treatment) if the people
- involved are not "involved" anymore. It seems to me that the dr. treating
- either party would be able to do a better job if all the records concerning
- the course of the disease on both parties were available to him/her.
- What happens in those cases?
