  25. Note, though, that while what you're saying makes perfect sense it also
  26. assumes that the couple remain a couple after one exposes the other to the
  27. STD.  I suspect that there is an appreciable number of cases of STD where
  28. the relationship lasts a short time.  I'd be interested in finding out
  29. about what kinds of compromises can be made (between privacy of medical 
  30. records, and getting the info necessary for treatment) if the people 
  31. involved are not "involved" anymore.  It seems to me that the dr. treating 
  32. either party would be able to do a better job if all the records concerning 
  33. the course of the disease on both parties were available to him/her.
