- Surely you mean "optometrist" rather than "optician". If not, DO tell your
- friend to go to an optometrist since they are the most thoroughly trained
- in fitting contact lenses and glasses.

- I thought soft contact lenses were gas permeable. At any rate, your
- friend might consider gas permeable hard lenses. I have been wearing
- hard lenses since 1977 and got gas permeable hard lenses when they
- became available. I have not had any problems, and my corrected
- vision is fine (my correction is in the -5 diopter range). Of course,
- hard lenses are not nearly as comfortable as soft lenses.
