- I am working with an index of industrial production (not seasonally
- adjusted) and I ran into a problem. The base year changed from
- 1977 to 1987 mid way through the data. I found a source (EconData at
- Univ. of Maryland) which has the series via anonymous ftp and they
- somehow managed to re-base it all to 1987. The
- problem however is that they dont go back as far as I need to go in
- the data. I've contacted them to ask about this, my message was
- reffered to someone else and I havent heard a thing since. My question
- is this: Is there a way to re-base the series and/or is there another
- source which might have the re-based series over a longer time span?
-
- Many Thanks in advance,
- Joe
