- You've just found a problem many industrial researchers
- have been trying to solve for a long time. A very short
- answer to your question is: there are no wonder glues
- (or adhesives, as those familiar with the art prefer to
- call them) that would bond any pair of materials.
- Many popular plastics/polymers (such as polyethylene,
- polypropylene, Teflon(tm)) just don't have any
- functional groups that would react with a glue to form
- a chemical bond. Their surface must be activated,
- physically roughened, or, what's most effective, two
- parts are just melted/sintered to form a joint.
