- ** WORKSHOP SITE **
- Sendai, the City of Trees, is located in the northeast region of
- Japan. It is 350 km north from the capital city of Tokyo and is only
- 2 hours away from Tokyo by the Tohoku bullet train. It is also one
- and half hour flight from Osaka. It is reached by some international
- airlines including Singapore (7.5 hour flight) and Seoul or Pusan
- (2 hour flight). The city, with a population of 1,000,000 has
- a warm climate and is blessed with four separate and beautiful seasons.
- The workshop site, Aoba Memorial Hall, is located at the campus of
- Faculty of Engineering, Tohoku University, Sendai.
- There are many beautiful places around Sendai. In the mountain
- range of Zao, you can see a spectacular view of Lake Kakoh, also known
- as the Okama. With its cobalt blue water against the steep mountainside,
- it is quite a fantastic sight to behold. Also, Matsushima, with its
- two hundred and sixty islands, is known as one of the three best scenic
- places in Japan. Tours can be arranged if enough interest arises.
-
- ** REGISTRATION INFORMATION **
- The registration fee for regular IEEE Members will be approximately
- 20,000 Yen (US$180). The fee for students will be only about 6,000 yen
- (US$50) including all workshop materials except Banquet Ticket. The number
- of participants will be limited up to 150 because of the limit of conference
- room. A detailed registration form will be sent out those returning
- the "Request Form." Registration will be done on a first-come-first-served
- basis.
-
- ** Request Form for Further Information **
- Those who return this form will receive the second circular
- which includes an advance program, hotel accommodation, travel,
- registration and other necessary information. Please return this
- form by May 10, 1993.
