- Why is it that every time transportation alternatives are discussed that
- no-one _ever_ mentions bicycles? Bikes are a viable, non-polluting method
- which caters to the individual and increases fitness. I'm not saying that
- this is the answer for everyone, but there are plenty of people who could
- take advantage of this solution. Wider lanes, driver and cyclist education
- on sharing the road, bike lockers in cities, lockers and showers for
- employees, etc. Utilizing the same routes for both cars and bicycles with
- adaptations to accomodate both methods of transportation will minimize the
- expenditure and increase the number of people biking to work, or using a
- bike as a method of transportation.
