  21. Why is it that every time transportation alternatives are discussed that
  22. no-one _ever_ mentions bicycles?  Bikes are a viable, non-polluting method
  23. which caters to the individual and increases fitness.  I'm not saying that
  24. this is the answer for everyone, but there are plenty of people who could
  25. take advantage of this solution.  Wider lanes, driver and cyclist education
  26. on sharing the road, bike lockers in cities, lockers and showers for
  27. employees, etc.  Utilizing the same routes for both cars and bicycles with
  28. adaptations to accomodate both methods of transportation will minimize the
  29. expenditure and increase the number of people biking to work, or using a
  30. bike as  a method of transportation.
