- I assume you are talking about "pop" music recordings. I think there are
- plenty of jazz (generally not fusion or new age, but standard acoustic jazz)
- and classical recordings that meet your listening criteria, though. One of
- the things I've noticed as my audio equipment pile has grown is that my
- listening collection is shrinking. I'm not sure I like this relationship.
- I know it means I'm getting more sophisticated in my old age, but it also
- means I'm getting more narrow in perspective.

- I assume you mean in preamplification. Regulation in the early stages of a
- power amp would also apply, but, in the output stage, you can throw out a
- lot of overhead with regulation. Seems like a serious sacrifice.
