  27. Yup, you're right.  Many people can't hear the difference, or it doesn't 
  28. matter much to them.  HOWEVER....if you are into the ultimate in sound, and
  29. really listen, you can hear the difference.  Many people have hobbies.  I
  30. collect cars, which is expensive & takes up lots of room.  I've got friends
  31. whose hobbies are their audio systems, which is more expensive and takes
  32. up less room.

  34. Maybe stamp collecting is the way to go; high cost/volume ratio.

  36. My point is this:  You can look at all the frequency response graphs you 
  37. want, and it isn't going to tell you how a system sounds.  Going by a purely
  38. engineering outlook isn't going to give you a real idea about quality, because
  39. there is stuff going on that we don't even begin to understand.  Just speaker
  40. wire, as someone mentioned, can be quite expensive.  I think the current
  41. state-of-the-art is multi-sized wires in a non-twisted bundle, low O2 copper,
  42. etc. etc. etc.  OK, you might not be able to hear much, if any difference.
