  12. I'm not sure exactly what your looking for, but you might 
  13. try NE566 ~ $1 , which will do triangle and square waves up to 
  14. 2Mhz. Another one is 
  15.  
  16. Intersil 8038 - in 14 pin dip package, sin square, triangle
  17. up to 100Khz. ~$3.00

  19.  For a good damped oscillation, try a pendulum! ha ha.
