- There's been a resurgence of activity on the classics-faq editors
- mailing list with regard to writing and publishing a list of Frequently
- Asked Questions (with answers) for the newsgroup. This will serve as a
- reasonably definitive resource guide for the Classics on the Internet.
-
- Here is a repost of the introductory article for the feedback mailing
- list (which is the default Reply-To:) of this article. If you have any
- suggestions or submissions, or wish to be a contributing editor, drop
- us a note by replying to this post.
-
- (Since we have several volunteers already, one would need both strong
- credentials in the field and a good track-record of initiative and
- completed projects to join. A new contributing editor would be expected
- to write a substantial part of the proposed FAQ, as well as undertake
- the research and ongoing correction/maintenance that such a document
- would require.)

-
- We could certainly use 1 or 2 more people to serve on the list. The
- coordinators list provides contributing writers and editors to the FAQ
- list, an expert panel to ensure FAQ accuracy, and a team of friendly
- people to handle various FAQ "customer service" issues. I've strived to
- make the technical administrivia of mailing lists and posting mechanics
- transparent to the editors. If you have some degree of
- subject-expertise, a lot of enthusiasm, and you can send and receive
- E-mail, you can participate.
-
- If you would like to volunteer, send E-mail with your qualifications to
- the coordinators mailing list address (the default Reply-To: of this
- message).
