  11. (I'm assuming that by the name of this newsgroup, you
  12.  all are a medical and/or biology-based discussion group.
  13.  This looked like the most appropriate newsgroup to post
  14.  this question because of that.)

  16. I am reading a type of sci-fi book that describes a
  17. certain type of psychic attack in the following way:
  18.   "It is a massive assault upon all neurons in
  19.    the brain, attempting to destroy all by a
  20.    massive overload of signals."
  21.  
  22. What does this sound like to you medically-oriented
  23. people?  Would this type of attack cause any real
  24. physical damage to the brain or other parts of the
  25. body?  Would there be psychological or serious
  26. brain damage?

  28. I realize this is rather hypothetical, but some of
  29. you who know something of the biological workings of
  30. the brain (e.g., neurons, synapses, etc.) might be
  31. able to take an educated guess.
