- See A. Mallama's last three papers in Icarus (6" scope). Wasn't the Pluto
- survey done with an 8" Crookes triplet? At any rate, many variable star
- observations are done with small apertures.

- Research implies the ability to learn something previously unknown. Experimen-
- tation implies that conditions in the system under study are varied, observation
- does not require control of the conditions on the system under study. Research
- may be done by either observation, or experimentation.
