- I have had pretty good results using Forstner bits in the 3/4"
- to 1 1/2" range in a hand held electric drill, if the hoels are not
- too deep (up to about an inch). For deeper holes or larger bits,
- you will probably need some means to keep the drill perpendicular
- to the work piece. A drill press is good, but a cheaper alternative
- is to use the Port-Align drill guide that mounts on a regular
- electric drill. This also has the advantage that you can bring it
- to large or fix workpieces that would be difficult to handle in a
- drill press.
