  14.       I have the Makita planer and I absolutely love it.  The moving table
  15.       has not yet been a problem with lumber up to 8 feet.  This is with 3/4
  16.       lumber however and i'm sure that 8/4 oak without extra support would
  17.       be a mistake.  It all boils down to how a tool is used which is why
  18.       some people like and some dislike the very same tool.  It was $445
  19.       which is kind of high but it got the highest review in a planer
  20.       comparison some time back.
