- I am also interested in this. I built the kids a beautiful sandbox last summer
- out of gorgeous redwood - I waited until I had collected enough boards with
- combination heart- and sapwood so the boards are all beautifully striped.
- So far I've given it 3 or 4 generous coats of linseed oil, covered it during
- heavy rains, and it still looks great after 6 months. I want to build a
- picnic table to match, but I'm sure it won't get covered in the rain (we don't
- get rain in the summer around here), and I'm wondering if the linseed oil is
- going to work. I am willing to re-oil it a few times a year if that will
- keep it looking good.
