  12. An article in today's Sunday San Francisco Examiner reported that Lake
  13. Tahoe businesses are complaining that media reports have scared off tourists
  14. from visiting the area at a time of the best snowfall in years.

  16. Businesses have apparently complained about weather reports on local TV
  17. stations in California, especially in the Bay Area, where a large number of
  18. skiiers come from. The reports are exaggerated, according to businesses.

  20. The businesses have also complained that the highway patrol and Caltrans have
  21. needlessly shut down roads leading to the resort area.

  23. Public officials cite public safety concerns; weather broadcasters say they
  24. have a responsibility to look after the public's safety as well.

  26. Public officials also said that sometimes Tahoe's weather is all right, while
  27. up the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada, it may be snowing buckets.

  29. Anyone notice a drop off in skiiers on the slopes? Maybe now's a good time to
