- Since you can both bet *and* play bingo in NM, wanna bet it never passes?
- The eve before the legislature votes on it, with victory for the bill
- clearly in sight, some official spokes man from Our Favorite Religion will
- make a statement to the effect that some of his cronies fear that passage
- of such a law would cause members to stop having kids (mutiply and
- replenish the earth) and maybe not pay their tithing (10% off the top from
- you income). Come voting time, all those supporters will have suddenly
- disappeared, and the bill will be defeated by a landslide. No joke! This
- is precisely what happened with the flat tax bill a few years back.
