- The last time that I was in Belize, the fishermen would cut out the
- Conch meat and just ditch the shells next to the dock. I collected
- a few and (after spraying them with insecticide to kill any nasty
- tropical bug eggs that might get layed in them) sealed them in
- plastic and brought them home. When I opened them a coupl of months
- later... GGGGGAAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!! What a stench! I took them
- to a car wash and sprayed them out with the pressure washer
- and then soaked them in automatic dishwashing detergent (about 1/4
- cup to 5 gallons of water) for a few days, rinsed them and dried them.
