- Berry, I'm shocked that someone would sell you a shell with a "live" sea
- animal inside. Anyway, that's not your problem now.
- From time to time I pick up shells that I THINK are empty and later on find
- out that it really was "someone's home". I haven't had too good results in
- removing the animal inside. What I have done was to place the shell in water
- out in my shed (not in the house) for about a week and then rinse the shell.
- Normally, by that time the animal has decayed enought that it just falls out.
- I have heard of using bleach. But I've never done that. Always afraid the
- color would fade or it would harm the hardened shells outside coat. But it
- might work for you (maybe if you use 1/3 cup to 1 gal water).
