- Tony Bell asks about womens track versus road bests.
- In the 10K, track best is Kristiansens 30:13.??, set in Oslo
- (cool summers evening), and the road best is by Liz McColgan at 30:38
- set I think in Orlando. Obviously the advantages the track affords,
- is that it is dead flat, and you potentially have 20,000 screaming
- fans all the way around (must give some help).
- The womens track world best for ten miles has just been set at
- around 55mins by Lorraine Moller (NZ), the road best is substanially
- quicker, but of course this is not exactly run very often on the track.
-
- Another point, about the Tokyo half, in second place in the
- fantastic time of 60:11, was none other than Todd Williams,
- of whom so much has recently been written.
