- Hi Tom,
-
- I think you're looking for SFMM on the Northern California map, not the
- Southern California map...SFMM is in Valencia, CA (yes, this town does
- exist). Valencia is about a 45 minute (with no traffic jams) drive
- North of LAX. Take the 405 North till it merges with the 5 Freeway, then
- take the 5 North till you get to Valencia.
-
- The park you mentioned near San Jose is Paramount's (aka Kings Entertainments)
- Great America. Its was originally a duplicate of the Great America park
- in Chicago, but Six Flags invested a lot more in rides and maintenance than
- Kings Entertainment. While you'll immediately recognize the layout (if
- you've been to the Chicago park), you'll soon notice that all those new, large
- steelies are missing from the California park.
-
- Paramount's Great America should open about the second weekend in March for
- weekend operation until Memorial Day (and then full time for the Summer).
-
- Tom
