- I am not sure this counts but I'll try it anyway. There is a city in southern
- Arizona named NOGALES. Across the international border in Mexico, there is a
- city named NOGALES also. Now, I'm not sure if they were the same city before
- and were divided up or if they started out separately.

- Now, in Southern California there are two cities bordering each other that
- have interchangeable syllables in their names. The places I'm thinking of are
- CLAREMONT and MONTCLAIR. I know the spelling is different but I think you
- understand my point. Are there other places in the country with this
- distinction? What about the world?

- Sidenote: Also in Southern California, there is CALEXICO and across the
- border in Mexico, there is MEXICALI.
