- Well, my thought is this. Yes, to break trust is not exactly *right* but I
- sincerely believe that this vet probably does not do this often, and never for
- any other reason (such as to do experimentation on a pet to be put down, for
- example). I think if I heard this story and the vet *had* put the healthy dog
- to sleep I would have been irate, and I would support the vet's decision to
- save the dog if I had heard about it before the decision was made. I think
- that maybe the vet should have discussed it with the dog's owner (trying to
- pursuade them to take other courses) but if the owners refused, as there are
- some completely uncaring people out there, I think vets are not wrong in
- taking the matter into their own hands. Legally, I don't know the implications
- but morally, I think that's what's right.
