- Hi all,
- Pee-wee has a really terrible, unbreakable (I've given up, that is, beyond
- shooing her away when I hear her doing this) habit of digging and pulling at
- my bedsheets. What this tends to mean is that I spend a lot of money on
- new fitted sheets which never match my top sheets (okay, not a big deal)
- because her little scratches turn into gaping rips in a few weeks if I am
- not TOTALLY vigilant. Thus far I'd just been using the dead sheets as
- rags, but with the last one I got the bright idea of just giving it to her
- as it was. Now it's in a pile on the floor of "her room" (also known as
- my study, when she cares to share it with me :) ) and she pushes at it and
- digs in it and rearranges it and drags it around all the time. She's
- really funny. We have started this game where she'll be digging and I'll
- throw another piece of the sheet over her and she digs her way out and
- jumps on me. Lots of laughs...
- This may be wishful thinking, but I think she may even have tapered off on
- ripping the sheets I'm still trying to use...
-
- Just now, she seems to have decided her litter box is a toy, too. Pine
- shavings everywhere...Then she got part way out of it (hind legs on the
- floor, front legs reaching into the box) and started _dragging_ it across
- the floor!
-
- Enough of that...I sort of recall someone saying earlier that it's a
- better idea than not to spay females even if they have no contact with
- males, because they tend to get ovarian tumors...Is that right? I've
- always just kind of felt that if there was no need, why have her cut up?
- Can someone please repost or repeat the basic arguments for getting
- rabbits spayed? Also, she's about 1 1/2. Is that too old? Too young?
-
- Thanks, especially for indulging all that "cute bunny" stuff,
- Annie
