- I have had a GSP for the past few years and think you have found your
- breed. There has been a bit of discussion on a thread titled "Vislas
- or Better", or close to that. I have a wife and two sons and the dog
- is probably 80% family pet. He is good natured with the kids and my
- wife has been totally won over by his pleasant disposition. I have
- never had a dog that truly does not shed. The GSP's sheding is
- minimal, in my opinion.
-
- My dog has proven to be a most adequate gun dog. He has had no real
- training except at my hand and still performs well enough. I will,
- without hesitation, replace this GSP with another.
-
- Do keep in mind as you begin your search in earnest that parentage is
- the key to a good dog from a good breed. Be very careful. It is
- extremly important to have knowledge of both the sire and the dam.
-
- Good luck.
