- I am about to purchase my first shotgun, probably a Remington 870,
- and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with mounting
- a low power scope on such a gun without buying a seperate barrel?
- I want a scope for increased accuracy during the fall whitetail
- season, (not necessarily to take longer shots). However, because
- I also enjoy shooting clays and would like to start phesant hunting,
- I don't want to buy a gun with rifle sights or with the scope mount
- already attached. I have seen a number of different ways of mounting
- a scope to a shotgun, but they all seem to involve drilling into the
- reciever or using some sort of a tension device which doesn't seem
- too accurate to me. Has anyone mounted a scope to the vented rib
- of the barrel? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Am I asking
- too much, or is this even possible? Thanks for your time.
