- In the [alt/rec/sci].aquaria groups, we use:

- [F],(F) = freshwater
- [M],(M) = marine
- [R],(R) = reef

- I'd say that only about half the postings use them. Also, there is
- probably a bigger percentage of people interested in, say, freshwater
- aquaria only than, say, rifles only (just my gut feeling). And a note:
- we started out with the square brackets, but have been moving to parens
- because of problems the brackets cause with some news readers out there.
- To conserve subject line space, as was mentioned before, we could use:

- (P) = pistol
- (S) = shotgun
- (A) = automatic (full)
- (D) = personal defense
- (L) = reloading
- etc. ...
