  44. Although the payoffs are similar, the games are really much different.
  45. In video poker, you are allowed to discard any cards that you don't
  46. like, and draw replacements.  In DD Stud, you only get the 5 original
  47. cards, but you don't get to see the last card until you've made your
  48. double-or-stay decision.

  50. The odds for ending up with the various final hands are much different
  51. in these two games.  For an extreme example, VP using the strategy in
  52. the FAQ gives the player a royal flush about once every 36,000 games.
  53. In DD stud, it is more like once every 650,000 games.  The VP strategy
  54. in the FAQ allows the player to win or push about 45% of the time.  In
  55. DD stud, you will win or push only about 35% to 40% of the time.
