- Although the payoffs are similar, the games are really much different.
- In video poker, you are allowed to discard any cards that you don't
- like, and draw replacements. In DD Stud, you only get the 5 original
- cards, but you don't get to see the last card until you've made your
- double-or-stay decision.

- The odds for ending up with the various final hands are much different
- in these two games. For an extreme example, VP using the strategy in
- the FAQ gives the player a royal flush about once every 36,000 games.
- In DD stud, it is more like once every 650,000 games. The VP strategy
- in the FAQ allows the player to win or push about 45% of the time. In
- DD stud, you will win or push only about 35% to 40% of the time.
