- I must have gotten my name on some kind of mailing list because I've been
- getting all kinds of junk mail lately regarding gambling. Anyway, one
- of these pieces caught my eye and it read it through. (*Real* slow
- night in New Hampshire :-) ) It was in regard to playing slots, and
- this dude claimed to have figured out how to make a definite profit in
- slots.
-
- Maybe it's me, but I always figured slots was a game of *chance*, with
- absolutely no skill involved whatsoever. Whether or not one wins is
- purely a matter of chance, luck, relative humidity, phase of the moon,
- current cricket population in Iceland, and various other factors. One
- of the "tidbits" that this dude tossed out was that if you see a slot
- machine with a cherry showing on the middle reel, definitely play it,
- since this is allegedly a certain indicator that this machine is getting
- ready to pay off big time.
-
- Is there really a viable "slots strategy", other than continuously
- stuffing <coin denomination> into the machine, and hoping it pays off
- before your financial resources disappear? Logic tells me no, but....
