- Sure. PLayers place their bet ($5 min at the Hilton). Each player is dealt 1
- card face up. The dealer then deals 4 cards, 1 down and 3 up. Now is where
- the fun comes in. All players use the 4 cards in front of the dealer in
- their hand. Since you can see 3 of the 4 cards in your hand, you know
- basically if you've got anything. At this point you have the option to
- "DOUBLE DOWN" your bet. I'll set up a sample hand, it'll be easier to show
- than describe.
-
- Player 1 bets 5 and gets a Jack.
-
- Player 2 bets 5 and gets a 7.
-
- Player 3 bets 10 and gets a 4.
-
- The dealer deals one down, a six, a Jack, and a 4.
-
- Real quick, the payouts! (I now appollogize for the haphazzard arrangement
- of my desciption)
-
- Pair 6 - 10 PUSH
- Pair J - A Pays 1-1
- Two Pair Pays 2-1
- 3 of a Kind Pays 3-1
- Straight Pays 5-1
- Flush Pays 8-1
- Fullhouse Pays 11-1
- 4 of a kind Pays 50-1 (I think)
- Strt. Flush Pays 200-1
- Royal Flush Pays 2000-1
-
- That's about what I remember. (It's not like I wasn't drinking or anything)
-
- So back to our scenario. P1 has at least a pair of jacks @ 1-1, so he
- Doubles down (now @ $10). P2 has the 7 with nothing showing for help, so he
- doesn't DD. Player 3 sees another 4, but since you need 6's or better to
- push, P3 decides not to double the bet.
- After all players have had a chance to make their Double, the 5th card
- is turned. In our scenario, it turns out to be another 4.
-
- Player 1 now has two pair (J & 4), so his bet of 10 gets paid 2-1!
- Player 2 has a pair of 4s, not enough to push, house takes his 5.
- Player 3 lucks out, now having three of a kind . 10 @ 3-1 pays 30.
-
- If p3 had doubled on the chance there was a 4, then it's a nice $60 pay!
-
- Try to get 60 in a regular game of 5 stud with 3 of a kind.
-
- Anyway, hope I 'splained it OK.
