- The companies you mention also make good mid-weight boots (2 to 4 pounds
- per pair). You probably want something will all leather uppers for
- extra protection when scrambling. The Asolo Trail boots used to be
- very popular in this price range; but these are now very expensive and
- hard to find. I have a pair of Merrill Explorers, which work pretty
- well. Make sure you get something that fits you well. Fit is much
- more important than any other boot characteristic.
