  33. You should not have to recreate it for them, if it happened recently
  34. the trouble code for the problem is stored in the cars computer.
  35. Ask them to run the engine diagnostic and tell you what codes the
  36. computer spit out.  I am surprised they did not do this immediately.
  37. It could well be that the idle speed control system is screwing up,
  38. this happened on my '87 before.  Make sure they take a specific action
  39. and record the results, such as "Engine computer diagnostic run,
  40. revealed codes: XXX".  Don't let them refuse to take the car into the
  41. shop and run the diagnostics.  Also, don't let them get by with just
  42. adjusting crap, tell them to start swapping out components until they
  43. find the problem if that's what it takes them.

  45. Don't take this lying down and also don't blame the car, blame the
  46. dealer. It is under warrantee and it is their job to fix it even if they
  47. have to replace the entire engine CPU and all the sensors to do it.
  48. I fixed mine myself the car now has 85,000 and starts and runs 
  49. perfectly & now I'm getting 27 MPG as well.

  51. Even if the basic warrantee runs out all engine control systems are
  52. covered by the federally mandated pollution control warrantee on
  53. all cars.
