  11. I'm thinking of purchasing a Toyota 4Runner, probably a pre-1988
  12. model (the year they updated the body, etc.?). Can anybody answer
  13. some of the following questions?:

  15.     * I understand that 1988 (?) and prior were designed so
  16.       the rear cover could be removed, the back seat removed
  17.       and you end up with somewhat of a truck bed. Is this
  18.       true? How hard is it to put on/take off the cover?
  19.  
  20.     * Did they make V6s in 1988 and prior? Mostly 4cyls?
  21.  
  22.     * Is the 4cyl powerful enough for medium hauling, ski
  23.       trips, etc. - I don't intend to do heavy offroad stuff.
  24.  
  25.     * Is the engine reliable, strong, etc?
  26.  
  27.     * Any strange quirks anywhere in/on the vehicle?

  29.     * Cost of maintaining 4x4 mechanisms?

  31.     * Do you have to screw with lug bolts (?) when shifting
  32.       to 4x4?
