- I received many replies to my original question; thanks to all who replied.
- Summary of the replies: Y E S , they help !!!
- Using snow tires on the non-drivable wheels helps: For front wheel drive
- it gives the rear wheels a better grasp, hence reducing the chance of a
- spin (especially when breaking while going down hill). For rear wheel
- drive you'de get a better steering (though from my experience, steering
- is not so bad because the heavy engine sits in the front thus the front
- wheels are holding tight on snow).
