  22. I would call the latter half of this patently false. Can you point to a
  23. single Japanese design before, say, '89 model year that was particularly
  24. original or advanced w/ respect to aerodynamics (real or affected)?
  25. Hell, until this year Camrys (Toyota's bread and butter) were boxes that
  26. most resembled Kcars w/ flush headlights and a few curved edges. I'm not
  27. sure about the Caprice, but at least it took a chance, and went with an
  28. extreme -- full tilt swoopy. I'd say even the newest Civics look closer
  29. to a facelift than a new generation, yet it was lauded for its looks.
  30. Oh, and, finally, most of the "best" (this is all subjective, of course)
  31. Japanese designs are, in fact from California (esp. the Lexus coupes).
