  25. The guy spent about $400 in repairs over 60,000+ miles in his 1988
  26. Ford Tempo (including new water pump) and is still driving it.  So
  27. this is about 2/3 of a cent per mile.

  38. This is over 35 cents a mile for maintenance.  Can this be a typo?

  40. I guess we each have a limit to the amount of risk we are willing to
  41. assume, but three thousand bucks is a heck of a lot, on top of the top
  42. dollar sticker price people are already spending for the "reliability"
  43. of a Honda.

  45. A healthy amount of fear and loathing of mechanics is only natural,
  46. but..  I bet you could become an ASE certified mechanic YOURSELF for
  47. three grand, and buy a full set of tools to go with it.
