- When the catalytic converter gave up the ghost in my JEEP, the symptoms were . . .

- 1. Oil & lots of it in the aircleaner. (due to exhaust valve blow by)
- 2. Lack of power.
- 3. It would rattle due to loose bits & peices inside.
- 4. The exhaust was excessively hot. Also, the converter itself will get rather hot.
