- Weeeellllll...... The only time I lost a cat, I had symptoms not unlike yours,
- except the engine had 120K miles at the time. I thought it was the injectors,
- as this particular car had had more than its share of injector/computer
- trouble. So, one day, I opened the hood with the engine running. At idle.
- It had been running, at idle only, for about 3 minutes when I noticed the ex-
- haust manifold was glowing. I don't mean like some cars do after running hard,
- either. This was a FWD Olds 98, and I swear the manifold was getting near
- meltdown temperature, or at least it looked like it, with that lovely blinding
- orange color.....

- Short of that, I think the diagnostics (if your car has EFI) can figure out,
- by the throttle/airmass/rpm/whatever if there is an exhaust blockage.
