  12.       I have this feeling my dream car is out there somewhere -- I just need
  13.       to find the right person to point it out to me! Here's what I want to
  14.       head to the hills in:
  15.          "A reliable 4WD miniwagon, '86-89, that approaches the crash-test
  16.          data of a new Escort and gets reasonable gas mileage (25-35mpg)."

  18.       The two cars that get me salivating are the Subaru Loyale and the Civic
  19.       AWD Wagon. But I know the Loyale did poorly on the tests, and I think the
  20.       Civic did too. Any *informed* advice?

  22.          Or, if my dream car is a mythic creature, then where can I find a safe
  23.       and reliable '86-'89 4WD vehicle of any kind in the $5K - $9K range?
