  13.      I am currently beginning to look into a new car.  Currently i'm leaning
  14. towards a Sport Utility.  At this point I am trying to stay with an American
  15. brand, but if I get a good reason I might look at an import.  I've looked
  16. at Jeep Wrangler's and found them to be too small and too crude for me
  17. no matter how much the open feel appeals to me for the summer.  I also 
  18. took a ride in a base Cherokee with the 6 cylinder in it and I like it
  19. a lot.  This truck is at the top of my price range considering my
  20. trade in and recent grad rebates etc.  The salesdroid quoted payments
  21. in the area of $269 @ 9.9% for 5 years with $2500 down.  This is acceptable
  22. but still more then i'd like.  He basically wants sticker and isn't offering
  23. much for my car (which I can kinda understand since its 5.5 YO and has 
  24. 128K mi.).  
  25.     My questions are centeres around whether I might get a better deal on
  26. a base S10 or Jimmy with a 6 in it.  Will the Jimmy move as well as that 
  27. Cherokee did.  I was impressed at the power in that truck.  Does a 
  28. Jeep rate sticker price, or where should I start to wheel and deal?
  29. I was thinking to begin with that i'd like to offer something like
  30. 13 to 13.5 taking into account the rebates and all already, but I need
  31. to know if i'm leaving them anything.  I could also use some advice as
  32. to common refernces for pricing on these types of vehicles.
  33.     I'm kinda set on the Cherokee or S10.  I'm getting married this year,
  34. and my fience has a 4.5 year old, and we'll probably be looking at
  35. another kid within the lifetime of the car.  This means that i'll need
  36. enough room to haul 2 kids and 2 adults.  This kinda eliminates the 
  37. Dodge Dakota V8 I wanted to look at.  This also kinda slipped into my 
  38. price range.  
  39.      Well, take your best shot and let me have some advice.  I honestly
  40. don't get to read rec.autos as much as i'd like so e-mail would be better,
  41. but i'll keep my eye out either way.
