  25. Will you please, please, please, pick up your dictionary and look up the
  26. word 'euphonic'! From the Greek 'eu', meaning 'good' and 'phone', meaning
  27. 'sound'. It means 'pleasing to the ear'.

  29. If the distortions are pleasant, they would not be *unwanted* or
  30. *bothersome* -- unless it merely offends some puritanical ideal rather than
  31. your ears.

  33. You seem to be reacting to jj as if he is suggesting that there is some
  34. awful sound in your LPs, and that he's telling you that you this awfulness.
  35. That is not the case. Euphonic distortions don't sound like distortion.
  36. They can sound like 'depth', and 'smoothness', and 'spaciousness', or other
  37. agreeable qualities.

  39. I'd like to play with some of these effects using CD recordings if I get a
  40. chance. If I like the results, then the hell with The Absolute Sound [note:
  41. I used an 'l' and not an '!' :-) ], I'll add the distortion and be happy.
